Newton Running is proud to sponsor the 2009 Union Tribune Race for Literacy weekend in San Diego, CA (May 2-3, 2009). The event features a children's one mile fitness run, as well as an 8K race, all of which benefit the San Diego Council on Literacy.

During the '07-08 service year, this organization has provided free literacy instruction to over 72,000 adults and children in San Diego.
